Final “Fumage #1″
Here is a little bit more of a detailed shot.
I found that there are a few tricks when working with flame as a medium.
If you work with a candle, you have a likelihood of spilling wax on your work. Best plan is to work with a medium sized wooden match. Too little and you burn yourself. Too long and you risk charcoal over everything as well as bits of charred wood falling off in your work zone.
Even with a wooden match, you can get different colors. By holding the match at an angle and letting the heat slightly toast the board, it will turn light brown. Too much or near the edge and your board might light on fire. You might want to avoid this.
I bought an aloe Vera plant today. This is good in case you burn yourself. :)

Thanks there David. It was fun too. I think I am going to do a few more and work them into some watercolor stuff.
